Bursa's Bazaar

Back Up Next

I really liked the bazaar in Bursa.  I think Don and Wendy did too.

Much of it surrounded a leafy courtyard where shoppers could enjoy tea.

This was a cool day -- a little cloudy.  And it was late in the afternoon, so most of the tea-sippers had already left.

But the shoppers were out in full force.

I held my camera up to my chest and snapped this way while looking that way so folks wouldn't get upset that I was taking their pictures.  I hoped.

Must have worked.  Nobody got upset, though I did get a few funny looks.

There was even more to see than in Philadelphia's Little Italy.

MMMMMmmmmmmm.

I think King Midas must have passed by.

Lotsa shops.

Now there are some tea sippers.  The kid in red was carrying a round tray suspended from his hand by wires, and in the center of the tray was a clear glass cup of tea.  (Turks don't like ceramic cups.)  The kid would swing the tray as though he hadn't a care in the world about spilling anything, and in fact, he didn't spill anything.  Guess he knows his physics.

A place to escape from the hubbub of the market.
