This is the sidewalk in front of our hotel in Konya.  I wanted to grab a picture of the high school students in their school uniforms. Public school uniforms are a big deal in Turkey.

And here's the view from my window. 

Look at the tanks of water on the roofs.  It's their source of hot water -- solar heaters.

And behind the water tanks is a minaret that blasted us out of bed early the next morning with a call to prayer.  See those loudspeakers?  Very effective.
