Canakkale is a beautiful little seaport.

With beautiful sunsets.

Lotsa little boats.

And a great big phony-baloney horse.  The town purchased this movie prop from the makers of the Brad Pitt film, Troy.

There ya go.  The whole story.

I found the street vendors more interesting than the phony-baloney horse.

Fresh, milky corn.  Whole ears roasted on charcoal embers.  An exotic treat from the New World: 
Corn on the Cob. 
What a yummy idea.

Lotsa people come down to the waterfront promenade in the evenings.

There's our hotel over there on the right. 

They had a wedding in the hotel this evening.  Oh, joy.  Lotsa loud music until much too late.  Glad I had earplugs with me.  I slept just fine.

There's that horse again.

And here's a scale model of Troy.  All the Troys, in fact.  They kept building them and earthquakes and wars kept destroying them and they kept building them again.  Finally after about the ninth try, they gave up.
