So if Lahaina is supposed to have once been the center of the world's whaling industry, why don't we do a little whale watching while we're here?
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man
The skipper brave and sure
Five passengers set sail that day
On a three hour tour...a three hour tour.
But the weather didn't start getting rough and that's not an uncharted desert isle. It's still Lana'i.
And we weren't exactly alone out there looking for whales.
I mean there were some big old boats floating around out there.
And now everybody is on the lookout for whales.
Remnants of a volcano.
If you think you won't get seasick, you can have a look at some video.
Now let's get down to business. Where are the whales?
There's one! See him? Right there in the middle of the picture!
And there's another one -- see the spout in the distance?
But mostly we saw waves.
And remnants of volcanoes.
Still, it was a fun trip. A nice excursion for the end of the day in Lahaina.
Kaulana was a fine whale-watching vessel. |
