Pit Stop

It's been a long ride, and now it's time to let the tourists answer the call of nature.

It's nice that out here in arctic desolation there are signs of civilization.

A lovely hotel.  OK, never mind the appearance: it was warm inside and there was complimentary coffee and tea cake.

And an aquarium with fluffy green balls.

There are wonders in Iceland of which I'll bet you've never dreamed.  Like, did you know that there are only two lakes in the world with algae balls called marimo?  Well, it's true!  And Lake Myvatn is one of them!

Fascinating.

Ooooh it's chilly here.

Tammy's not deterred by Arctic blasts.

Besides, there's a nice warm souvenir shop waiting right over there.

Oops, the souvenir shop is closed.  So Tammy suns herself at a picnic table.

And over there on the souvenir shop wall she finds a picture of some distinctive-looking lads.  I wonder who they are?  Maybe we'll find out later?

But right now we're just getting colder and colder.

It's beautiful here at the pit stop.

But cold.  Very cold.
