Ever since I went to Six Flags over Texas when I was 14 years old, I have loved theme parks more than any grownup ought to like theme parks. I do appreciate a good roller coaster. But after I took Lily and her kids to Universal Studios Orlando in 2024, following our trip to Disney in 2023, I told myself that would probably be my final theme park fling. I was getting too old for this and besides, we had already seen the best of the best so there would be no point in going back, right? Well, Universal threw me a curve and built a shiny brand new park right there in Orlando and I wasn't getting any younger, so since I still remained pretty much ambulatory and could think of no good reason not to go, I talked to Lily and "SURE" she would be happy to take the kids out of school for one day if I could arrange a long weekend in Orlando. So off we went. And we had a ball once again! I must say thanks to Stephanie Perlick of The Vacationeer travel planning services for her invaluable help in setting up all these trips. She makes things so easy and provides great advice and even virtually holds my hand when I get paranoid over what to do if the government shutdown shuts down our flights. We had no flight problems whatsoever and I'm certain that's totally due to Stephanie. Can't thank her enough! We haven't changed much over the years, have we? I mean, Bill hasn't even changed his shirt!
