After Graceland we had only about 30 minutes to race across town to the Pink Palace Museum where we could see an Imax movie about the Hubble Space Telescope.  It was late in the day and we didn't have much time for pictures.  Too bad.  Anyway, here's what we have:

That's the Pink Palace, a fabulous mansion built by the inventor of the modern supermarket, Clarence Saunders, just before he went broke in the stock market crash of 1929.  Poor Clarence never got to live here.  So what do with the place?  The city of Memphis took it over and turned it into a museum.

No time for pictures.  Jump out of the car and run inside.

That's what we saw.  I think everybody agreed it was worth the rush to see it.

And then we said goodbye to the Pink Palace and that was that.
