During the reunion, several of the attendees were treated to a special tour of the
Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center in Panama City.  The visit culminated with
the Navy's presentation of a beautiful commemorative plaque.
The inscription reads:

To the men of the USS SANTA FE CL-60
thank you for your bravery, steadfast devotion to duty
and most of all thank you for the freedom you've provided
this great country and the American people.  May the example
of the "Lucky Lady" continue to serve as a reminder of the
price of freedom
